Sound Of Football Podcast 344 - Home away from home

Has it really been 10 years since the infamous Game 39 was first mooted by the Premier League? Memories of the aborted plan to play an extra league fixture in far-flung corner of the world, have been rekindled following the announcement that La Liga will be taking selected regular league fixtures across the the Atlantic, sometime in the near future.

The practice of moving a team's home fixture to a different country as a PR exercise is nothing new to the NFL, who have been coming to London since 2007 and are scheduled to stage three matches in the capital this autumn. So is it more of a surprise that this hasn't happened sooner?

Terry and Graham look at what La Liga have planned and how it could help them steal an advantage on the global stage against their rivals in the Premier League.

Sound Of Football Podcast 343 - The Championship versus the Champions League

Who wins when football broadcasters embark on a ratings war?

This season, Sky will show eight full rounds of the Championship on the same night as the Champions League is being shown on BT Sports. Despite being England's second tier, the Championship is the sixth richest league in Europe and boasts two winners (Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest) and a finalist (Leeds) of Europe's premier cup competition.

Graham, Terry and Jan discuss this latest ramping of hostilities between the two broadcasters and also talk about the effect the early closing of the transfer window in England has had on the general narrative surrounding the game.

Sound Of Football Podcast 342 - La Décima

There's really nothing like that feeling at the beginning of the season. In the first podcast of our tenth season, we look at two of our favourite aspects of this time of year.

Firstly we look at fantasy football, or more accurately the way fantasy teams are created and promptly forgotten. Jan plays every week but Graham creates a team with all good intentions and then doesn't do a thing with it. If you're more like Graham than Jan when it comes to fantasy football, our special guest, football writer Tom Victor (@tomvictor) may have the answer.

In the second half of the podcast we look at hopes and expectations for the season ahead. Broadcaster Archie Rhind-Tutt (@archiert1) talks to Terry about how Fulham will shape up on their return to the top flight and tell us all about their wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon.

*To join Tom's fantasy football league, simply go to fantasy.premierleague.com, create your team of losers and join the league using the code: 624289-136790 - remember, you have to spend every penny of your budget!
