Sound Of Football Podcast 266 - Changing goalkeepers

Last week, we briefly speculated over the future of current England and Manchester City number 1, Joe Hart. On this week's pod, Graham And Terry, extend that line of debate into the wider subject of the future of goalkeeping and the part that key position plays within the team.

Of course, Buffon crops up in the discussion but the focus is soon drawn to his main competitor for World number 1, Manuel Neuer - a player drawing attention for his play-making as much as his shot-stopping. Is he an anomaly or does he represent a paradigm shift in the art?

Hart's 'bad patch' is letting in 2 soft goals at the Euros. Neuer and De Gea let in soft goals too in the same tournament.
Hart had a good season last year.
He wasn't dropped for the Capital One Cup final. Caballero had played all the games in that competition and was promised the final. Nothing to do with Hart's form.
