Sound Of Football Podcast 329 - 50+1 won't go

Bundesliga clubs last week voted to retain their ownership model of 50+1, where the majority of shares must be owned by club members rather than an oligarch or natural gas company. Good news for fans but not so good news for Bayern Munich, whose CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes will struggle to compete with the super-rich sides in other European leagues that enjoy no such restrictions.

This week, Graham, Jan and our resident Bundesliga expert Terry, discuss the 50+1 model - its benefits and any potential drawbacks. We also ponder where Bayern go from here - barely challenged on their way to a sixth consecutive Bundesliga title (even when they are far below their best), is success in the Champions League the only measure of how good they actually are?

If all this chat has whetted your appetite for some German football, Bundesliga games don't get much bigger than Bayern v Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. There's also Chelsea v Spurs - not only a scrap for a Champions League spot but could also be a rehearsal for next month's FA Cup Final. Sound Of Football Podcast 328 - Idealists and idiots

How could Jose Mourinho's Manchester United side have lost to a team that has won three times as many European trophies in the past four seasons?

Instead of celebrating qualifying for an FA Cup semi-final at the weekend, much of the conversation around Jose Mourinho and his side still centres around their exit from the Champions League just a few days earlier, and the unconventional press conference he treated everyone to afterwards. While the rant, for want of a better word, did little to explain United's Champions League exit, it does a much better job at exploding the tedious narrative of the football manager press conference.

This week Graham, Terry and Jan discuss Jose's season: is his side in transition or is he really just a "busted flush" as his detractors would have us believe.

Sound Of Football Podcast 327 - Fan action

The actions of a small minority of fans at the London Stadium last weekend have been widely condemned but have also drawn attention to the troubles at West Ham. While most fan groups involved agree that something must be done, just how they go about it has led to division and threats of violence.

With acts of collective protest now easier than ever to organise, what steps can fans take to show their dissatisfaction? Terry, Graham and Jan look at the situation in East London and in other flash-points across football. Could we soon start to see tennis ball protests in the Premier League?

Sound Of Football Podcast 326 - Arsenal Fan TV

Is Arsenal Fan TV the future of football punditry? Is supporter-led and created content the way forward? Ed Carter from the Twohundredpercent podcast sits in for Jan to discuss the YouTube channel that has become his, as a Brighton fan, firm favourite.

A service with phenomenal metrics, we ask just why the formula works so well for Arsenal Fan TV and why it doesn't seem to work so well at other clubs.

Recorded on Monday night, Terry also goes through the pain of watching his team, Crystal Palace, lose a two goal lead to Manchester United while recording a podcast with a Brighton supporter.
